A message from Mr McL

Hi Digitales team,

I hope you all enjoyed your time on the Digitales course as much as I did! You have produced some fantastic work. I have copied everything to a CD and you should receive your disk on Thursday or Friday. There are still more movies to upload and I will do them one or two at a time. If you have any questions, please email me at sean.mcloughlin@education.nsw.gov.au

Adam and Eve

Amber worked long and hard at her epic version of Adam and Eve, one of the oldest stories known.

Simon knows a thing or two about movies!

Simon's pivot movie shows a film writer presenting scripts to a Hollywood boss. Just because the boss man likes it, however, doesn't mean that it's good!

Sam's Amazing Wolf Movie

Sam has animated the old fable of The Boy Who Cried 'Wolf'. This version includes music by Beethoven.

Samantha M's Fabulous Echidna Movie

Samantha M decided to animate the Aboriginal Dreamtime story "How the Echidna Got Its Spikes". This animation is the result of many hours' hard work and it looks wonderful! (By the way, I have repaired the little technical glitch with the sound, Samantha - Mr McL)

Do you have a favourite poem?

If anyone in the Digitales team has a favourite poem, why not bring it tomorrow (in your head or written down!) and record it using Audacity - you have plenty of willing helpers to assist with the recording!

BTW, you can also download and install Audacity free of charge - it is a freeware program designed by NASA people in their spare time! Click here for the link.
Don't forget to download Lame too!

The Apple by Nathan

Nathan's first movie ( a silent movie!) shows a most unfortunate fellow who just wants to get a juicy apple from a tree.

The Cat Came Back

This is one of many versions of the song "The Cat Came Back":
Old Mr Johnson had troubles of his own
He had a yellow cat which wouldn’t leave his home
He tried and he tried to give the cat away
He gave it to a man who was going far away

Chorus:
But the cat came back the very next day
The cat came back; they thought he was a goner
But the cat came back, he just couldn’t stay away.

The man around the corner swore he’d kill that cat on sight
He loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamite
He waited and he waited for the cat to come around
Ninety-seven pieces of that man was all they found

He gave it to a man going up in a balloon
Told him just to take it to the man in the moon
The balloon came down, about ninety miles away
Where that man is now, well I just couldn’t say.

The H-bomb fell, just the other day
The atom bomb fell in the very same way
England’s gone, Australia’s gone and now the USA
The human race is finished, they had no chance to pray

My Uncle James

Here is the poem 'My Uncle James' by Margaret Mahy:

My Uncle James
Was a Terrible Man
He cooked his wife
In the frying pan.

She's far too tender
To bake or boil!
He cooked her up
In peanut oil.

But sometime later-
A month or more-
There came a knock
On my uncle's door.

A great green devil
Was standing there.
He caught my uncle
By the hair.

"Are you the uncle
That cooked his wife,
And leads such a terribly
Wicked Life?"

My uncle yowled
Like an old tom cat,
But the devil took him,
For all of that.

Oh, take a tip
From my Uncle James!
Don't throw stones
And don't call names.

Just be as good
As ever you can-
And never cook aunts
In a frying pan!
